"Albania in a Box" – How a Package Carries Home

Sometimes a great idea doesn’t start in an office, but in an old suitcase.

That was the case for me. My name is Fidan – son of an Albanian refugee family, born in Kosovo, raised between two cultures. I am a bridge child between Germany and Albania. And it was exactly this bridge I wanted to build with Albanien.Shop – a place that holds a piece of home in the hands of many.

🇦🇱 The Roots: Cultural Association & Longing for Home

In 2014, I co-founded an Albanian cultural association in Germany. That’s where I first felt how deeply the longing for our roots is anchored in our community. Events, folk dances, music – all of it connected us.

Through the association, I often had contact with producers of Albanian cultural goods: Plis, traditional clothing pieces, instruments, or flags – things that stir emotions.

In 2018, the idea matured: An online shop that bundles all of this. A platform through which we deliver “Shqipëri në kuti” – Albania in a box.

I created a WhatsApp group: “Albanien Shop Projekt.” But as often happens, life got in the way. The idea was put on hold.

🎒 The Forgotten Suitcase & The Return of the Idea

A suitcase full of flags – that was all that remained. I had organized 20 pieces back then. Five years later, while cleaning out my apartment, I came across that suitcase again. And with it, the memories.

Albania had just qualified for EURO 2024. The old vision awoke inside me – this time with new energy: “What if I start now?”

I uploaded the flags on eBay. But inside, I was already planning much bigger. I thought: If I manage to get official Macron jerseys…

And it worked: I got the deal – the foundation was laid. Albanien.Shop was born.

🏠 Warehouse with Heart: From the Apartment to a 30 m² Warehouse

The first shipments were still sent from the living room. Today, I have my own warehouse space of about 30 m². Every product offered in the shop – whether Plis, busts, or flags – is shipped directly by us. No dropshipping, no long delivery times.

💝 As a thank you, we include small goodies:

Stickers, keychains, bottle openers, pens – things other shops sell as expensive premium items, you get from us for free.

📦 A very special part of our shipping is Beslim – brother of influencer Egzxxn – who takes care of many shipments with heart, humor, and dedication. On social media, he regularly shows how your orders are packed – personally, friendly, authentic.

Beslim is not just an employee for us – he is family and the soul of the shipping.

🤝 A Strong Community – Influencers, Events & Support

Our community is the heart of Albanien.Shop.

We have been part of highlights such as:

  • Support from Egzxxn, Betim Bardhi, DJ Gimi-O, and many other personalities from the scene
  • Participation as an official partner at the Easy Shqip event in the Lanxess Arena Cologne, where we supplied over 2,500 people with flags, Plis, and jerseys at a sales booth
  • Exclusive distribution of the official EURO jerseys from Macron – as well as our own concept jerseys

But none of this would have been possible without the help of my wife, my brother, my siblings, and my parents. They stand behind the project with full conviction – they are the true engine of Albanien.Shop.
