“Shqipëri në kuti” – A Story of Culture in a Box

Sometimes a great idea doesn't start in an office, but in an old suitcase.

That's how it was for me, too. My name is Fidan – the son of an Albanian refugee family, born in Kosovo, and raised between two cultures. I'm a bridge child between Germany and Albania. And that's exactly the bridge I wanted to build with Albania.Shop – a place that holds a piece of home in the hands of many.

🇦🇱 The Roots: Cultural Association & Longing for Home

In 2014, I co-founded an Albanian cultural association in Germany. There, I first sensed how deeply rooted the longing for our roots is in our community. Events, folk dances, music—all of this connected us.

Through the association, I often had contact with producers of Albanian cultural goods: plisas, traditional costumes, instruments, or flags – things that evoke emotions.

In 2018, the idea matured: an online shop that bundles all of this together. A platform through which we deliver "Shqipëri në kuti"—Albania in a package.

I started a WhatsApp group: "Albania Shop Project." But, as so often happens, life got in the way. The idea was put on hold.

🎒 The forgotten suitcase & the return of the idea

A suitcase full of flags – that was all that remained. I had organized 20 of them back then. Five years later, while clearing out my apartment, I came across that suitcase again. And with it, the memories.

Albania had just qualified for EURO 2024. The old vision reawakened in me—this time with renewed energy: "What if I started now?"

I uploaded the flags to eBay. But inside, I was already planning much bigger things. I thought: If I can get my hands on official Macron jerseys...

And it worked: I got the deal – the foundation was laid. Albania.Shop was born.

🏠 Storage with heart: From your apartment to a 30 m² storage unit

The first shipments were made from my living room. Today, I have my own warehouse of about 30 square meters. Every product offered in the shop—whether it's pleats , busts , or flags —is shipped directly from us. No dropshipping, no long delivery times.

💝 As a thank you, we include little goodies:

Stickers, key rings, bottle openers, pens – things that other shops sell as expensive premium items, you get for free from us.

📦 A very special part of our shipping team is Beslim – brother of influencer Egzxxn – who handles many of the shipments with heart, humor, and dedication. He regularly shows on social media how your orders are packed – personal, personable, and authentic.

For us, Beslim is not just an employee – he is family and the soul of the shipping company.

🤝 A strong community – influencers, events & support

Our community is the heart of Albania.Shop.

We were able to attend the following highlights, among others:

  • Support from Egzxxn, Betim Bardhi, DJ Gimi-O and many other personalities of the scene
  • Participation as an official partner at the Easy Shqip event in the Lanxess Arena Cologne, where we had a sales stand and were able to supply over 2500 people with flags, plisas and jerseys
  • Exclusive distribution of Macron's official European Championship jerseys – as well as our own concept jerseys

But none of this would have been possible without the help of my wife, my brother, my siblings, and my parents. They fully support the project—they are the true driving force behind Albania.Shop.
