Your measurements

To make sure your costume fits, we check every order against the measurements you enter before shipping. If an item is too tight, we'll get in touch with you.

* Required: height and weight. All other measurements are optional but help us check the fit.

How to measure
  • Height: Without shoes, from the top of the head to the floor.
  • Weight: Your current body weight – it helps us judge the fit.
  • Chest: Under the arms, around the fullest part of the chest, snug but not tight.

Ideally, have someone else measure you – directly on the body, in underwear or close-fitting clothes.

A little room is fine Traditional costume pieces are cut generously. If an item has some room, you can have it taken in yourself by a tailor of your choice – an item that is too tight can hardly be altered. If in doubt, choose the larger size.

The waistcoat is one of the most distinctive pieces of the Albanian men's traditional costume. This model comes from a manufacturer in Gjakova and combines bold red with crisp black trim.

Design and features

  • Bold red
  • Black edging on the front edges, armholes and hem
  • Two parallel black decorative braids along the front panels
  • Designed to be worn open

Occasions

Wear the waistcoat to Albanian weddings (dasma), on Flag Day, Dita e Flamurit (28 November), at traditional family celebrations, and at cultural and folklore events and dance performances.

You will receive the waistcoat only. The shirt, trousers, belt and all other costume pieces are not included.
